PayPal asks you to confirm a payment before it moves, and we will not ask for your password by email or phone.

What you can count on
Nothing leaves the balance until you accept the person, the amount, and any fee on the confirmation screen.
The payment stays in the list with the date, the other person, and the amount you approved.
If a line looks wrong, open it and contact support from the email on the account. We reply there.
The details
Read this before you send, request, or pay. Each point is one thing the screen will ask you to check.
A password only you know
Do not reuse a password from another site. Change it if you think someone else has it.
Two-step verification
Turn it on in your account so a sign-in needs more than the password.
Look before you confirm
Read the name and the total. A small change in an email address can send money to the wrong person.
We will not ask
PayPal will not call, text, or email you for your password or a one-time code.
A new device
If a sign-in looks new, check that it was you. If it was not, change your password and contact us.
Report it
Use Help or Report a problem. Include the date and the amount if you have them.
