Privacy
What we keep, and why.
PayPal uses your details to run the account: to know it is you, to send and receive payments, and to look into a payment that looks wrong. We do not sell your activity list.
In short
Your payment record stays with the account.
The person you pay sees what they need to recognize the payment. Support sees a payment only when you ask us to look at it.
What is included
What you give us
Your name, email, phone, and the password you choose. Notes you type on a payment. Messages you send to support.
What the account creates
Balance changes, sends, requests, sign-in times, and the device you use. Activity is that record.
Why we use it
To complete a payment you confirmed, to show the balance, to protect the sign-in, and to answer you.
Who else sees it
The other person on a payment sees the name and amount needed to recognize it. We do not publish your list.
How long
We keep payment records long enough to operate the account, resolve a dispute, and meet legal duties.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold, correct a name or email, or ask about closing the account. Use Contact and put Privacy in the subject.
