Report a payment that was not yours.
If someone else used your PayPal account, or a message asked for your password, do these steps now. PayPal will not call you and ask for a one-time code.
1. Change the password
Use Forgot password on Log In if you cannot sign in.
2. Open Activity
Write down the name, date, and amount of the payment you do not recognize.
3. Tell us
Use Contact. Choose “Something looks wrong.” Include the email on the account.
4. Do not pay a second time
A stranger who says they can reverse it if you send more money is not PayPal.
PayPal will not ask you to send a second payment, buy gift cards, or share a one-time code to “secure” the account.
